You may still qualify for funded home energy improvements even if you do not currently receive benefits.
ECO4 LA Flex is part of the UK Government-backed ECO4 scheme and allows local authorities to identify households that may require support outside standard benefit routes.
The scheme aims to help lower-income households, vulnerable residents and people living in homes with poor energy efficiency or high heating costs.
ECO4 LA Flex remains available and currently runs until 31 December 2026. Funding availability can vary by supplier, local authority participation and installer capacity.
What Is ECO4 LA Flex?
Unlike standard ECO4 funding, LA Flex gives councils greater flexibility to identify residents based on local needs.
This may include households:
- Living on lower incomes
- Experiencing fuel poverty
- Living with disabilities
- Affected by long-term health conditions
- Vulnerable due to age or household circumstances
Many local authorities use household income guidance around £31,000 or below, although rules can vary.
